Dear
Friends of the Maryland and New York Vocations
Office,
As many of you know, Fr.
Adolfo Nicolás -- the Spanish-born, 71 year-old head
of the Jesuit Conference of East Asia and Oceania -- has been
elected the Society's 30th Superior General. Below is a link
to a video interview of Fr. Nicolás entitled "Jesuits:
Men of Great Desires."
Also, the work of the 35th
General Congregation of
the Society of Jesus continues in Rome. We
are happy to share with you below several links that will help
you keep apprised of the latest news from Rome.
The past month has seen several vocation
"Come and See" events: at the Ciszek Hall community
(Fordham University), Old St. Joseph's Church (Philadelphia)
and the St. Aloysius Gonzaga community (Washington, DC). Below
are links several photo galleries from
these events.
Finally, Br. Chris Derby, SJ, Director
of Vocations for the Maryland and New York Provinces, recently
spoke at a family communion breakfast at Regis High School
in NYC about how his vocation as a Jesuit brother emerged from
his relationship with his own brother. We are pleased to be able
to share a podcast of
his talk with you.
We thank you for your continued support
in the very important work of Vocation Promotion. Best wishes
for a very blessed Lenten season.
Christ's Peace,
