Ash Wednesday
|
Dear Friends,
Today, the Church enters into the Lenten season and asks us to begin a pilgrimage toward Easter. That pilgrimage includes an internal examination of how we live out our faith, our Call. These forty days are an opportunity to remember that Christ won us our salvation. They also are an opportunity to buildup our personal relationship with Christ. If we live the salvific message of the Gospel, we can walk in Christ’s light. Our reception of the ashes today reminds us of our need to live that message on our pilgrimage.
I offer you a Contemplation for Ash Wednesday (click here) as a prayer to assist you in reflecting on how to live the Gospel message in your own life these days and to reconnect with Christ's Call for you!
