Fr. Robert Pecoraro, SJ

Vocation Coordinator for Western New York

Fr. Bob Pecoraro, SJ, (NYK) is currently Vice President for Ignatian Identity and Mission at Canisius High School in Buffalo, NYK.

Originally from Staten Island, New York, Fr. Pecoraro earned a bachelor's degree in Food Systems Management in 1989 and worked for a number of years in the private sector as a chef, culinary instructor, and restaurant consultant.

Fr. Pecoraro entered the Society of Jesus in 2000 at St. Andrew’s Novitiate  in Syracuse, New York.  He studied philosophy and theology for three years at Loyola University Chicago, earning a Master’s degree in Social Philosophy. Fr. Pecoraro was assigned to Cristo Rey New York High School for his Regency. While at Cristo Rey he taught Theology and was the campus minister responsible for faculty and staff faith formation.  In the summers he studied in the Institute for Catholic Education Leadership at the University of San Francisco, earning a Master’s degree in Catholic Education Leadership in 2009.

Fr. Pecoraro resumed his theology studies in 2007 and is completed a Master of Divinity and a Theological Master’s degree at the Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University in Berkeley, California. Fr. Pecoraro was ordained to the priesthood in 2010 and did a pastoral year at St. Anthony's Parish in Oceanside, NY, prior to his return to Buffalo in 2011.
