at
Holy Cross Church, Dewitt, New York.

Meet the 2008 Jesuit Vow Men:


 

Rodolfo Casals, SJ
Rudy, 33, was born in Yonkers, NY and grew up in Columbia, TN where he attended Columbia Central High School. He received a B.S. in physics from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Rudy left the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant after 13 years of service in various capacities, such as main propulsion officer on the USS Dubuque and USS Juneau and combat information officer on the USS John S. McCain. Rudy spent his long experiment working at St. Joseph's Preparatory School in Philadephia. After vows, he will begin First Studies at Loyola University, Chicago. (NYK)

Luis C. Infante, SJ
Luis, 34, was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, where he received his B.A. in English & Spanish from the Universidad del Atlántico. Prior to coming to the United States, Luis taught English and Spanish in high school and worked as a teaching assistant in literature. Before entering the Novitiate, Luis was a customer relations agent for an HMO located in Fairfax, VA. During his long experiment, Luis worked at St. Ignatius Parish in Baltimore. He begins First Studies in the fall at St. Louis University as a member of the Bellarmine House of Studies. (MAR)

Brett B. McLaughlin, SJ
Brett, 27, comes from Pittsford, NY, where he attended Pittsford Mendon High School. At the College of the Holy Cross, he earned his B.A. in history, political science and religious studies. Brett attended the U.S. Air Force Officer Intelligence School at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX. He traveled extensively in England while stationed overseas as Chief of Mission Analysis. He has worked as a parish intern with the Jesuits at Storrs, CT and at the Church of the Transfiguration in Pittsford, NY. During his long experiment, Brett completed a CPE program at Georgetown University Hospital. After vows, he will begin First Studies at Fordham University as a member of the Ciszek Hall Community. Matthew J. Prochilo, SJ
Matt, 24, grew up in Hampton Bays, NY, and attended St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School. For a time, he worked as an assistant to golf professionals at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club. Matt graduated from Fordham University in 2006 with a B.A. in philosophy. During his long experiment, Matt taught and worked in Campus Ministry at McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester, NY. During his time there he participated in a student service trip to the Dominican Republic. After vows, Matt will begin First Studies at Loyola University in Chicago. (NYK)

Eric M. Studt, SJ
Eric, 26, grew up in Gardner, MA. He attended St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury, MA, and the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. After graduating from Holy Cross with a B.A. in philosophy, Eric was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship to study Latin American liturgical music in Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil and Mexico. Prior to entering the Novitiate, Eric worked as a faculty member at the Nativity School of Worcester where he taught Spanish, religion and music. Eric spent his long experiment in Jamaica. After vows, Eric will begin First Studies in philosophy at Berchmanskolleg in Munich, Germany, following a year of intensive study of the German language and culture. (NEN)
