Fr. Fred J. Pellegrini, SJ

Fr. Fred Pellegrini, SJ (NYK) was born and raised in Manhattan. He attended Fordham University where he first encountered the Jesuits. After graduation from Fordham in 1974 with a B.A. in mathematics, he entered the Jesuit Novitiate at St. Andrew Hall in Syracuse. Afterward he studied philosophy back at Fordham, then did his regency at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, NJ.
Fr. Pellegrini began his theological studies at Weston School of Theology in Cambridge, MA in 1981 and was ordained in 1984. He returned to St. Peter’s Prep in 1985 to teach math and do retreat work. He spent his tertianship year of 1990-91 in Detroit and at St. Joseph’s Church, Benin City, Nigeria. He served as Chaplain at Fordham Prep from 1991-93.
From 1993-2000 Fr. Pellegrini was Associate Pastor at St. Anthony’s Church in Oceanside, Long Island. He served as Socius to the Novice Director at St. Andrew Hall from 2000-2004. He was then assigned to be Pastor at St. Aloysius Church, Harlem, NY, where he presently ministers.
